EC issues code of conduct for LB polls in Punjab
LAHORE: The Election Commission Punjab has issued a code of conduct for the candidates participating in the coming local bodies elections in the province and has also imposed a restriction on the campaign budget, Media reported Friday.
The Election Commissioner of Punjab Mehboob Anwar told Geo News that the process of LB polls has kicked off throughout the province and that the EC will continue to receive nomination papers from December 22 to 27.
The Election Commission has fixed the security fees from Rs 2,000 to Rs 20,000 for the candidates while the total budget for campaigning will not exceed Rs 200,000.
Display of arms and firing gun shots will not be allowed during the campaigning process, as per the code of conduct released by the ECP.
The EC Punjab further told that the banner will be of 3x9 ft size while the hoarding will be of 3x5 ft that candidates can utilize during their election campaign.
Moreover, any candidate can face disqualification if found violating the code of conduct, Mehboob Anwar added.
