Pakistan’s interest is to Avoid Sanctions Activity: US State Department

WASHINGTON: In opposition of Pak-Iran gas pipeline project,US State Department said it's in Pakistan’s interest in order to avoid any activity that will hit this with sanctions.

US State Department said it was giving Pakistan with alternatives that will avoid any kind of sanctions infringement.

"We recognize that Pakistan has significant electricity requirements however we think there tend to be other long-term Solution to Pakistan's electricity needs, " said deputy Acting spokesman Ventrell.

"And so we've been assisting like a government to give rise to the alleviation from the energy crisis in Pakistan, " he mentioned.

"It's of their best interests in order to avoid any sanction able task, and we think that we provide and are providing... a better way to satisfy their electricity needs in a few of the assistance we've been providing."

The Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is Strongly opposed by Iran's arch-foe America.The pipeline venture has encounter repeated issues, including Pakistan's difficulty in locating funds in addition to opposition towards the project by Washington, that has slapped Iran which has a raft regarding sanctions over its nuclear activities.
