Obama’s Executive Order For Cyber Security

WASHINGTON: US President Barrack Obama has directed the officials concerned to adopt procedures and practices to stop cyber attacks on Washington’s institutions.
According to media reports, it was Obama’s executive order and didn’t amount to a new law.
The president was reported as having said that Washington’s enemies were seeking ability to sabotage its power grid, financial institutions and air traffic control systems.
The president who in his annual State of the Union Address announced plans to thwart cyber attacks, also called on the Congress to pass related laws.
According to the media reports, House Intelligence Committee said it was also planning to revive cyber threat information sharing bill Cispa, which previously privacy campaigners and White House had threatened to block.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (Nist) has also bee directed to work with the government agencies to draw up standards to tackle cyber threats.
