BEIJING: A fire at a coal mine in north China killed 11 workers and two persons still missing.
The official China News Agency Xinhua documented Friday that workers at coal mine in Zhangjiakou area died by carbon monoxide poisoning when an fresh air compressor caught fire underground.There were 13 miners underground when the fire commenced.
China's mines are usually notoriously fatal, with 1, 384 workers died in coal mine accidents last year. Safety advancements have diminished deaths lately, but regulations will often be ignored and also accidents will still be common.
