PESHAWAR: The Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway 1 has been opened for traffic following the improvement in visibility and overall weather condition.

A spokesman of Motorway Police told on Thursday that Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway (M I) has been opened for traffic at 9 50 am today after visibility improved and traffic was diverted from GT road to motorway for facilitation of general public.

He said motorway was closed for few hours last night due to dense fog and low visibility on Peshawar Swabi section. Now traffic is plying on the motorway smoothly.

The official urged motorists to remain careful while driving on motorway especially during nights in these days and maintain lane discipline to avoid traffic accidents. He urged people to use GT road and travel during day time. He said we are in close touch with Meteorological Department to monitor weather conditions and people would be informed accordingly.
