PM Nawaz to host farewell dinner for General Kayani
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday (today) will host a farewell dinner in honour of outgoing army chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, whose extended term ends on November 28.
Formal invitation letters have been sent to the heads of armed forces, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah, leaders of various political parties and other high officials will attend the dinner.
Source said that the senior most commanders of the Pakistan army who could be named to replace Gen Kayani will also meet the premier during the farewell dinner. The senior most generals are Lt Gen Haroon Aslam, Lt Gen Rashad Mehmood, Lt Gen Tariq Khan and Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam.
