Speaking to Zee Info News, Hayat revealed that the key witness in the murder case was still alive. He added that the eyewitness was buying vegetables at the time of the murder of the Zee Info News correspondent. According to Hayat this eyewitness had informed investigators of the number plate of the attackers’ car but had refused to appear in court.
The Additional IGP further said that Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon had also spoken of the eyewitness in the case being alive during a Geo News programme.
