KARACHI: Andhera Ujaala, the TV drama of mid 80’s that gained phenomenal popularity among viewers across the country, has made a refreshing comeback on today’s stage.
Originally scripted by film actor Shaan Shahid and directed by Umar Sultan, the play will continue to be staged till October 13 at a local auditorium.
The show is an attempt to portray a softer image of Pakistan’s police force by showing a human side of the men in uniform.
Brilliantly choreographed by Veera the theatre play also includes four songs.
The play has been written by Shafqat Khan and it has so far received an encouraging response from the audience. It is being dubbed as a step towards restoring Karachi’s previous status of ‘city of lights’ and revive the theatre in Pakistan.
