KARACHI: Eighteen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Thursday, increasing the patients' toll to 739 during 2013 so far, said Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh said that a total of 763 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of them 739 were reported in Karachi and 24 in rest of province.
He said six dengue patients expired in Karachi this year.
Mullick further said that 22 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the Sindh and 18 new cases were reported in Karachi on 22nd August. He said one case was detected in Hyderabad.
He said twelve cases were detected in Hyderabad, one in Larkana, one in Dadu, two in Kambar, one in Khairpur, one in Sanghar, one in Naushero Feroz, two in Shikarpur, two in Thatta and one in Kashmore since January 2013.
However, 19 patients were also discharged from different hospitals of the province on Thursday. (PPI)
