KARACHI: As election campaigning for the by-polls on August 22 is about to conclude today (Tuesday), army personnel have been deployed at all the sensitive polling stations across Sindh including Karachi, Zee Info News reported.

According to sources, troops have been deployed in and outside sensitive polling stations across Sindh including Karachi in the backdrop of coming by-polls on August 22 and to avoid any untoward situation.

All political parties will end their election campaigning at midnight, following the directives given by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Moreover, the process of army deployment will also come to an end tonight, sources told.

Army personnel have already been stationed at Mirpurkhas and Shikarpur polling stations.

According to the ECP, army personnel will be able to exercise the powers of the first-class magistrate on August 22 under which they will be able to punish any perpetrators.

A total of 819 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive across Sindh including Karachi while more than 300 as sensitive.
