GROS ISTLE: Pakistan has beaten West Indies in fourth ODI by six wickets in at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia today, Zee Info News reports.
Pakistan won the toss and invited West Indies for batting after deciding of fielding first in fourth crucial ODI in St Lucia.
West Indies scored 261 runs after losing seven wickets at completion of 49 overs. One over was reduced after rain started amid the match.
The host team set 262 runs target for guest Pakistan but later on the target was reduced further under DL rule after another rain break.
Pakistan openers played responsibly and started adding into score carefully and avoided lost of quick wickets at start of the innings.
Openers Nasir Jamshed score 22 runs on 61 balls and Ahmad Shehzad 14 runs on 17 balls. Later on, Mohammad Hafiz played more maturely, made 59 runs on 65 balls while skipper Misbah-ul-Haq played unbeaten innings, and added 53 runs into Pakistan score on 70 balls.
Shahid Afridi scored seven runs on nine balls and Umar Akmal made 29 runs on 19 balls in unbeaten innings. Five runs were given as extras by West Indies to mount host team’s score to 189 on four wickets in reduced 30 overs’ innings.
Pakistan has taken lead by 2-1 in five ODI’s series.
