Details sought on Indian hydro power project
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs sought details from the Ministry of Water and Power in connection with India’s 850 MW hydro power project to be built on Chenab River.
According to the sources at Ministry of Water and Power, the Foreign Ministry in a letter inquired whether India had exchanged any information in connection with its plan to build a rental power project in District Dhoda of held Kashmir.
The Ministry of Water and Power in its reply to the Foreign Ministry said Indus Water Commission is the authority to look into matters like these and that information has been sought from it.
It may be mentioned here that India had laid the foundation of stone of the 850 MW rental hydro power project in the occupied Kashmir.
