Newly-elect CM Dr. Abdul Malik to sworn in this evening
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch says Balochistan problem could not be resolved through force as it was a political issue.
Speaking to media, Baloch said that the Balochistan issue could be resolved through dialogue and he would ask Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and military leadership to create such an atmosphere so that estranged elements could be brought on negotiating table.
He said he was neither happy nor sad to become chief minister of Balochistan instead he had challenges and opportunities.
The chief minister said that he would evolve a short term strategy of three months to overcome problems facing the province.
He said that most parts of Balochistan had become no-go-areas where government lacked its writ. Baloch, however, added that state writ could be established by strengthening the people.
The nationalist leader who was elected unopposed as the Balochistan chief minister would take oath of his office at 6:00 after formal announcement of his victory in the provincial assembly session to be held at 11: am today.
