Chinese PM Addresses Special Senate Session
ISLAMABAD: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday addressed a special session of Senate in Islamabad on the second day of his two-day long historic visit to Pakistan,Media reported.
The Chinese PM has reassured Pakistan of its continued cooperation in all fields to further expand bilateral ties.
While addressing the Senate today‚ he appreciated Pakistan's role for bringing peace and stability in the region and world over as well.
“Pakistan is a great country and a time tested friend of China. Our deep rooted relations will be further strengthened in the time to come,” he said.
The Chinese PM stressed the need for expanding cooperation in various fields between the two countries and giving a boost to the economic and trade ties.
“We salute the struggle of people of Pakistan and the Pakistani government. Pak-China friendship is intact and we will continue to support Pakistan for its sovereignty and integrity in the world,” the visiting dignitary said.
Premier Li Keqiang will also visit the Pakistan-China friendship Centre along-with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and meet with Pakistani friends who have played a role in promoting Pakistan-China relations. He will also plant a tree at Shakarparian.
Pakistan and China on Wednesday agreed to strengthen their strategic partnership‚ expand economic ties and promote people-to-people contacts after the two sides held wide-ranging.
Earlier today‚ Muslim League chief, Mian Nawaz Sharif, held a meeting with Li Keqiang in Islamabad.
Both the leaders held in-depth discussion on the ways to further strengthening of existing bilateral and strategic relations in various fields, sources said.
Services chiefs including chairman joint Chiefs of Committee also called on the Chinese Prime Minister and discussed various matters relating to Defence cooperation between the two countries.
