Tuberculosis Screening Programme Soon in Punjab
LAHORE: A screening programme is being launched in 36 districts of Punjab to detect childhood tuberculosis.
Coordinator of Provincial Tuberculosis Programme Punjab Health Department Dr Drakshan Badar disclosed this while giving a briefing to media representatives on World TB Day here on Sunday.
Dr Drakshan Badar said now the TB patients had to take medicines only six months without any break which was being given to the patient directly under DOTS programme.
She said the number of such TB patients was increasing who did not complete their treatment due to which the disease became more complicated and fatal. (APP)
