Kosovo: Thousands Stage Anti-Serbia Protest
MITROVICA: Some 2,000 ethnic Albanians have protested in ethnically split town of Mitrovica against giving Serbs more powers in the ongoing talks between Kosovo and Serbia, expected to end next week.
Kosovo seceded from Serbia in 2008, but Belgrade has vowed not to recognize the move.
The two countries are holding EU-mediate talks in Brussels, and the extent of Serb autonomy in this disputed northern region remains a key dispute between the two.
Serbs in this region do not recognize Kosovo s ethnically-Albanian dominated institutions and want to join Serbia.
