Funeral prayer of Mehnaz Begum, who passed away in Bahrain on Saturday while on her way to United States for medical treatment, was held in Imambargah Khair-ur-Amal, Ancholi.
Secretary culture Ashfaq Hussain, large number of her fans besides family members participated in the funeral.
Mehnaz, 55, was the daughter of celebrated sub-continental singer Kajjan Begum.
She sang over 2,500 songs for radio‚ television, and films in a variety of genres like ghazal, thumri, dadra, khayal, and drupad.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf have condoled her death terming it a national loss.
