JOHANNESBURG: Pakistan cricket team’s tour of South Africa gets underway on the 1st of February with the first of the 3-test series.
South Africa, which is currently number 1 in the test ranking are the favorites to win against a talented but inexperienced Pakistan team.
Pakistan was also hit by injury problems ahead of the first test when regular opener Taufiq Umer injured his calf and had to return home.
Nasir Jamshed is being tipped to make his test debut in place of Taufiq Umer.
It will be down to the young Pakistani batting line up which is not used to playing on bouncy tracks, to put enough runs on the board if Pakistan is to have a realistic chance of staging any sort of an upset.
The first days play is scheduled to start at 1:30pm Pakistan standard time on the 1st of February.
