ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission meeting scheduled here Saturday morning has been postponed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, as Attorney General, law minister and Bar Council representative didn’t turn up over prime minister’s arrest order tension.
Earlier, CJP had called for a meeting of the Judicial Commission to mull over the appointment of High Court judges against existing vacancies, while the AG Irfan Qadir had refused to attend the meeting.
AG in a letter addressed to the Judicial Commission Secretary, Dr. Faqir Muhammad apprised him of that Pakistan Bar has not yet nominated its representative in the Judicial Commission besides provincial Bar Councils have also reservations and added that in the absence of the Pakistan Bar and Provincial Bar, the constitution of the Commission remains incomplete constitutionally.
